Transferring a senior from a wheelchair to another chair, a toilet or a bed can be easier if you remove the armrest(s). Without this obstacle in place, you don't have to worry about the person hitting or landing on an armrest. You can also slide a person sideways and avoid them having to stand at all. (The physically able often push with their hands to help with this motion.) For added safety, we cover metal posts and the wheel with a towel to avoid scrapes, snags and torn clothing.

Our caregivers help their residents successfully deal with physical, mental, social and emotional challenges on a regular basis. At the same time, they also strive to help each senior to maintain their personal dignity.
On this page, our caregivers share some of their experiences with the hope of aiding family members who are caring for an elderly loved one.
